First Lady bats for better youth healthcare access, says Palace

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos met with top business leaders and leading doctors from India on August 26 to explore ways of improving healthcare services and making liver transplants more accessible and affordable for young Filipinos, Malacañang announced Friday.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the meeting, held at the First Lady’s Office in Manila, focused on Marcos’ plans to provide better access to medical care and essential medicines.

Sa hangaring mabigyan ng pangalawang pagkakataon sa buhay ang mga kabataang nangangailangan ng liver transplant, nakipagpulong si First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos sa mga negosyante at top doctors from India,” Castro said.

According to Castro, the First Lady was inspired after hearing the struggles of Filipino families forced to seek treatment abroad.

Araneta-Marcos emphasized that saving lives, lowering medication costs, and expanding medical services are her top priorities for Filipino children in need of liver transplants. She also expressed her gratitude to the Indian experts for sharing their knowledge and support.

The initiative follows her recent visit to India with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. earlier this month, strengthening partnerships aimed at improving healthcare services in the Philippines.
