Filipino Veterans to get free MRT-3, LRT-2 rides for Valor Day Celebration

MANILA – Filipino veterans can ride the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) for free from April 5 to April 11 in honor of the 83rd Day of Valor and Philippine Veterans’ Week.

MRT-3 General Manager Michael Capati announced the initiative, recognizing the sacrifices and contributions of World War II veterans. “Kinilala ng MRT-3 ang dakilang sakripisyo at kontribusyon ng mga beterano ng Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig sa ating bansa,” Capati said.

To avail of the free ride, veterans must present a valid Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) ID at any MRT-3 station. Each veteran can also bring one companion who will also ride for free.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) is offering the same free service to veterans and their companions. Additionally, all LRT-2 passengers can enjoy free rides on April 9 during peak hours, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The promo will be available throughout the operational hours of MRT-3 and LRT-2 during the designated period.
