Filipino cuisine gained renewed international attention after two well-loved chicken dishes were featured in the latest TasteAtlas April 2026 global rankings.
Inasal na manok led the Philippine entries, topping Southeast Asia and placing third overall among the world’s best chicken dishes.
The grilled chicken dish, closely associated with Western Visayas, was previously ranked 10th globally in TasteAtlas’ November 2025 list.
TasteAtlas described inasal na manok as chicken marinated in vinegar, lemongrass, garlic, ginger, and spices, then grilled and brushed with annatto oil that gives it its signature color and smoky flavor.

Another Filipino favorite, adobong manok, also made it to the list, ranking sixth in Southeast Asia and 40th worldwide.
Known for its comforting balance of savory, tangy, and slightly sweet notes, adobong manok remains one of the most recognizable expressions of everyday Filipino home cooking.
TasteAtlas, founded in 2018, is a global food and travel guide that curates rankings of traditional dishes and cuisines based on expert and user reviews.
Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay welcomed the recognition, saying it highlights how Filipino cuisine continues to represent identity, culture, and everyday life while also supporting communities tied to food production and culinary tourism.
