PLDT Home’s all-in bet on fiber is paying off, as the company reported a solid revenue lift in the first half of 2025.
In a disclosure Friday, the residential internet arm of PLDT Inc. said its fiber-only services drove total Home revenues up 4 percent to P30.4 billion as of end-June, compared with the same period last year. Revenues from fiber alone surged 7 percent to P29.5 billion, now making up a dominant 97 percent of the segment’s earnings as the company phases out older technologies like DSL.
“This growth reflects the rising demand for high-speed connectivity and value-rich digital experiences,” said John Palanca, senior vice president and head of PLDT Home Business. “We’re rapidly expanding our fiber footprint while rolling out bundled services that match our customers’ evolving needs.”
PLDT Home added 169,000 new fiber subscribers from January to June, bringing its total to 3.53 million. The company credited this uptick to aggressive network expansion and bundled offers that combine internet service with mobile connectivity and Netflix subscriptions.
It also noted a shift toward premium plans: more than 80 percent of new sign-ups in the second quarter chose higher-value packages priced at P1,299 and above, boosting PLDT Home’s average revenue per user to P1,485 — the highest in the industry.
