Fair weather conditions were expected to continue across the Philippines on Friday, although isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may still occur, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The weather bureau reported that a low pressure area, previously known as Tropical Cyclone Caloy, had moved farther away from the country.

As of early Friday, the system was located around 1,055 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.

The agency said the weather disturbance no longer posed a direct threat and was unlikely to bring rainfall to any part of the country.

Metro Manila and other areas were expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with brief downpours or thunderstorms triggered by localized weather activity.

The weather bureau added that daytime conditions would remain warm and humid, with thunderstorms more likely to develop later in the day.

Most parts of Luzon were expected to see generally clear weather, although heat and humidity would be more noticeable from midday to the afternoon.

Meanwhile, isolated thunderstorms were seen to develop in parts of Mindanao, while no gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboards.
