Much of the country is expected to experience generally fair weather on Tuesday, with isolated thunderstorms likely in some areas, the state weather bureau said.
In its 5 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that the easterlies remain the only weather system currently influencing conditions nationwide.
The agency noted that the northeast monsoon, or amihan, is no longer prevailing over the country at this time.
Pagasa said satellite images showed cloud clusters concentrated mainly over Palawan and the western section of Mindanao.
Due to the easterlies, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country are forecast to see generally fair weather, although localized thunderstorms may still develop, especially in the afternoon or evening.
Pagasa said these generally fair weather conditions are expected to persist until Wednesday.
By Friday, the agency reported that the northeast monsoon may prevail again, potentially affecting parts of extreme northern Luzon, while no low-pressure area is being monitored within or near the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
