A massive fire that engulfed a factory in Barangay Veinte Reales, Valenzuela City was finally declared under control by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) at around 8 a.m. on Saturday—more than 15 hours after it broke out.

The blaze began at around 5 p.m. on Friday and was raised to Task Force Alpha at 7:50 p.m., prompting the response of 33 fire trucks.

Jem Oranga rushed home after receiving a call from her mother about the fire. Their house sits right next to the burning factory, and she immediately began evacuating their belongings.

Firefighters and machinery working to control a massive fire at a factory in Valenzuela City, with smoke billowing and debris scattered around.

“The flames reached our wall and even scorched our roof… eventually the fire turned back toward the factory,” Oranga shared.

She added, “We assisted the firefighters in whatever they needed and gave them access through our house.”

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported.

According to local officials, the factory manufactures plastic products like shampoo sachets, which made it difficult for firefighters to extinguish the blaze due to the highly flammable materials.

Some workers said the fire allegedly started in a storage area containing scrap materials.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is still assessing the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
