Experience sustainable mobility: Tesla in Bonifacio Global City

Elon Musk’s Tesla opened its flagship store in the Philippines, with the base model offered at P2.1 million to “make it affordable for Filipinos in support of the nation’s direction towards sustainable mobility.”

Tesla regional director Isabel Fan showed a concept household that is 100% powered by solar energy and capable of supplying the power requirement of the entire household, including the recharging of a Tesla car.

“My house in San Francisco [California] is like that, completely off-grid. We at Tesla envision the same here in the Philippines for a sustainable future,” Fan said at the launch at the atrium of Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City.

Riding to a green future, special assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Secretary Frederick Go, Megaworld Corporation chief strategy officer Kevin Tan, Tesla regional director Isabel Fan and Tesla Philippines Store Manager Ian Rojas, take a look inside Tesla Model 3 at the inauguration of Tesla’s flagship store in Bonifacio Global Center.

Tesla’s showroom, the Tesla Experience Center, is across the mall in Uptown Parade.

The Tesla Experience Centre redefines the automotive experience in the Philippines, offering a seamless, one-stop solution for every step of ownership. From sales and delivery to service, customers can now access everything they need in one location.

Tesla has announced that the Model Y, crowned the world’s best-selling vehicle, and the Model 3, the world’s best-selling electric sedan, will be making their debut in the Philippines. The public can now experience both vehicles at an exclusive pop-up in Uptown Mall, level one atrium until now. Customers can also experience these two revolutionary vehicles in the Tesla Experience Centre.

The Tesla Model Y, crowned the world’s best-selling vehicle in 2023, combines range, performance, safety, and technology. It offers 2.1 cubic meters of cargo space, providing versatile seating and storage for up to five passengers and their belongings. With ultra-responsive motors, it accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds, boasting a range of up to 533 km (WLTP). It starts at P2,369,000.

The upgraded Model 3 features a refined exterior for optimized aerodynamics and a refreshed interior design. With extended range and new features, it maintains its thrilling performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds and offering up to 629 km of range (WLTP) on a single charge. It starts at P2,109,000.

The Tesla Design Studio will be launched soon, the company said. Customers can now customize their Model 3 or Model Y from the vehicle’s exterior, interior, and even its features. Vehicles will be explicitly produced based on their requirements.

The Tesla Model 3 and Y will begin delivering the first vehicle to customers in the Philippines in early 2025.

“Tesla is committed and excited to help drive a zero-emission and greener future for the Philippines. As part of Tesla’s commitment to the Philippines, the company will continue to develop the country’s experience center, service and support, and charging infrastructure, aimed at delivering a seamless Tesla ownership experience,” the company said.

Tesla designs manufactures, deploys, owns, and operates the world’s largest fast-charging network. The first indoor Supercharger station in the country, featuring four Superchargers at Uptown Mall, will open soon.

Tesla’s plan includes opening multiple Supercharging stations at strategic locations to cover popular destinations across the country and will be announced in the future. With Tesla Supercharging, Model Y, operating at peak efficiency of 250 kW, can charge up to 120 km in just 5 minutes – reinforcing Tesla’s commitment to enabling convenient and efficient long-distance travel for Tesla vehicles across the region.

Supercharging will be available on a pay-per-use basis, providing Tesla owners with an exceptional charging experience at P19 per kWh. A full charge for Tesla vehicles is approximately P1,140.

In line with the Philippines’ drive towards a more sustainable future, Tesla vehicles will be entitled to the exemption from number coding, giving customers electric adventures daily.
