The House of Representatives facility is housing former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Wilkins Villanueva as he serves his detention following the actions of the House Quad Committee last December.
Quad Committee chairman and Surigao del Norte 2nd District Rep. Robert Ace Barbers stated that the former PDEA chief reported to the Office of the House Sergeant-at-Arms on Monday, immediately after Congress resumed its session following the Christmas break.
Villanueva was cited for contempt on December 12 for refusing to answer relevant questions. However, the committee postponed his detention due to the holiday season.
“Si Wilkins, yesterday, presented himself before the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, at nandyan siya ngayon sa detention facility,” Barbers said.
He will remain in detention until the committee reaches its conclusion. The mega panel plans to resume its hearings in the upcoming week.
