President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Jorjette Barrenechea Aquino as Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
Aquino will replace PCO undersecretary Cherbett Karen Maralit, according to her appointment paper dated January 23, a copy of which was made public on Monday.
Prior to her new appointment, Aquino served as Assistant Secretary for Rails in the Department of Transportation.
According to PCO Secretary Cesar Chavez, Aquino will focus on the rationalization plan and digitalization of PTV-4, as well as the rationalization plan of other state media agencies namely, Radyo Pilipinas, News and Information Bureau which oversees the Philippine News Agency, Philippine Information Agency, Bureau of Communications Services, and IBC-13.
