In a media panel following the special screening of Eraserheads: Combo on the Run, frontman Ely Buendia confirmed what fans have long hoped for: “We’re here to stay.”
“Tama na yung reunion-reunion na ‘yan, wala nang huling-huling El Bimbo. We’re here to stay… until we decide to break up again, that is (laughs),” Ely said, making it clear that the band is now back for good.
The documentary, which chronicles the highs, lows, and emotional journey of the group, played a role in their reconciliation.
“Parang there’s a lot of positive things that could happen. It helped with the healing process… it took me on a journey, even for someone who lived through it,” Ely added.
Director Maria Diane Ventura echoed this, saying the members’ solo interviews revealed truths they hadn’t shared with each other before. “Just the act of expressing themselves—separately—already felt healing. The truth can set you free,” she said.
Eraserheads: Combo on the Run will be shown in over 150 cinemas nationwide from March 21 to 23, giving fans an intimate look into the band’s story and what brought them back together—this time, for good.
