EastWest Banking Corp. has entered into a strategic partnership with the University of Asia and the Pacific to launch Economic Watch, a weekly newsletter that will provide clients with timely economic analysis and market intelligence.

Designed to help readers navigate an increasingly complex financial environment, Economic Watch will offer regular updates on macroeconomic conditions, market developments, and emerging trends that could shape investment and business decisions. The newsletter will cover key issues such as inflation, interest rates, and geopolitical developments, translating them into relevant and actionable insights.

The initiative brings together the research strength of UA&P and the market experience of EastWest, creating a platform that makes sophisticated economic analysis more accessible to clients. The bank said the goal is to give both individual and institutional decision-makers a clearer understanding of the forces influencing the local and global economy.

“In an era of rapid change, securing a clear perspective on the economic landscape is essential. Our goal is simple: make economic insights clearer, more accessible, and more useful for clients, so they can navigate a constantly evolving environment with clarity and confidence,” said EastWest Chief Executive Officer Jerry G. Ngo.

For UA&P, the partnership extends its long-established role as an economic think tank into a more direct engagement with the financial community.

“UA&P, with its history as an economic think tank, has long been committed to making economic insights accessible beyond the classroom,” said UA&P President John Philip R. Yeung. “Our partnership with EastWest is a natural extension of that mission—bringing the depth of our research and analysis directly to the people and businesses who need it most.”

Distributed weekly to EastWest’s high-net-worth and institutional clients, the newsletter is expected to serve as a practical guide for understanding market shifts and identifying opportunities amid uncertainty.

The bank said the initiative underscores its commitment to delivering meaningful thought leadership and empowering clients with the knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions.
