Easterlies to bring rains, humid weather across Phl

The easterlies affecting the entire country will cause rains in several areas and humid weather in others, a forecaster said on Tuesday.

The easterlies will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across the Bicol Region, Caraga, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Davao Oriental, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides.

“Cloud clusters formed due to the easterlies may affect Mindanao, so make sure to bring an umbrella,” PAGASA forecaster Benison Estareja said.

He added that no tropical cyclone or low pressure area is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility throughout the week.

Estareja said fair weather, partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail across Luzon.

High temperatures are forecast in some areas of Luzon, including Metro Manila (up to 34 °C) and Tuguegarao (up to 33 °C).

Estareja said some areas may experience humid weather, especially at noon.

The rest of the country, he said, is forecast to experience fair weather and isolated rains.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail across the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.  (PNA)
