Warm and humid weather will continue to prevail across the country as easterlies persist, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday.
In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz-Galicia said most parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms likely to develop, particularly in the afternoon.
She added that no low-pressure area is currently being monitored either inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility for possible tropical cyclone formation.
Across the archipelago, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected to continue.
PAGASA also warned of high heat index levels in several areas, with temperatures expected to feel as high as 36°C to 37°C in parts of Metro Manila and up to 41°C in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
The heat index measures how hot it feels to the human body when humidity is factored in with the actual air temperature.
With the scorching conditions expected to persist, PAGASA advised the public to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged outdoor activities, especially around noon and early afternoon when temperatures are at their peak.
