The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) forged a new partnership with logistics firm 2GO Group, Inc. to strengthen supply chain support for businesses nationwide, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at 2GO’s headquarters, formally integrating the company into DTI’s Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC) network. The collaboration aimed to address high transport costs, unreliable service providers, and logistical gaps across the country’s archipelago.

DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque said the agreement would help bridge logistical challenges from Region I to Region XVIII, noting the critical role of reliable transport in connecting the Philippines’ more than 7,600 islands.

“Access is the keyword here,” Roque said. “Through the SCLC, we’re giving MSMEs a clear lens to see the market.” She added that the partnership aligned with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s agenda to support MSME growth nationwide.

The signing ceremony was attended by 2GO President and CEO Frederic DyBuncio, and COO and CFO William Howell. DTI said the collaboration would involve business-matching events, market linkages, and Logistics Support Desks in Negosyo Centers across the country.

These Logistics Support Desks will provide entrepreneurs with guidance to improve distribution, while DTI will oversee coordination and platform access to ensure smooth collaboration between public and private sectors.

The MoU also formalized 2GO’s role in crisis response, ensuring the continuous flow of goods during emergencies. As part of the SCLC program, 2GO will contribute logistics data, advisory services, and linkages to strengthen the resilience of the Philippine supply chain.
