The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Caraga (DSWD-13) has replenished 10,900 family food packs (FFPs) in Dinagat Islands.

The agency said Wednesday that the restocking followed the near depletion of supplies due to continuous relief operations in the province.

It said the new FFPs are now prepositioned in strategic warehouses and areas across the islands.

Last month, DSWD-13 assisted local governments in Dinagat after the impacts of typhoons Tino and Uwan.

The department said the initiative forms part of its disaster preparedness efforts to ensure prompt aid and prevent hunger during emergencies.

It added that the measure aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to guarantee quick relief for affected communities.

Last week, DSWD-13 also received 10,000 food packs from the Visayas Disaster Resource Center as an initial replenishment.

The agency noted that the delivery is part of the 90,864 FFPs it requested for stockpiling and prepositioning.

It said maintaining adequate supplies is essential to ensure immediate food assistance during disasters.
