Phivolcs said Friday that 8,381 aftershocks had been recorded since the magnitude 7.8 offshore earthquake struck Maasim, Sarangani, on June 8.
In its 5 a.m. update on June 19, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said 2,040 aftershocks had been plotted.
The agency said 90 of the aftershocks were felt.
The recorded tremors ranged from magnitude 1.2 to 6.4.
Phivolcs data showed that aftershock activity had generally eased since the powerful earthquake.
Daily recorded events dropped from 1,083 during the first monitoring period from June 8 to 9 to 516 from June 18 to 19.
The agency, however, also recorded occasional increases, including 884 aftershocks from June 14 to 15.
Phivolcs earlier said aftershocks from the Mindanao quake may continue for several weeks or up to a month.
