ILIGAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Northern Mindanao (DSWD-10) has opened its Medicine Appointment System at its satellite office along Macapagal Avenue in Iligan City.
Under the system, the satellite office will generally accommodate only clients with confirmed appointments. Senior citizens, pregnant women and persons with disabilities may still be served without appointments as priority clients.
DSWD-10 said the system is intended to make the processing of medicine assistance more orderly and efficient and to ensure that clients are properly accommodated.
Clients may book appointments through the DSWD Medicine Appointment System and select from available slots. The platform will also show the number of clients that can be accommodated each day.
The agency advised beneficiaries to plan their visits and secure appointments in advance.
Meanwhile, Iligan City Mayor Frederick Siao said the local government has also upgraded parts of the city’s public health system, including the implementation of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation programs that provide free services, consultations and medicines.
Siao added that the city continues to seek a Php 250-million infrastructure budget for a six-story expansion of the Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital in Barangay Pala-o, which is expected to add 300 to 350 beds.
