MANILA – Domestic workers or “kasambahays” in Central Visayas will receive a Php 500 increase in their monthly minimum wage beginning October 14, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said.
Under Wage Order No. ROVII-DW-06, the minimum monthly wage for domestic workers in the region will rise from Php 7,000 to Php 7,500.
The adjustment covers general house helpers, yayas, cooks, gardeners, laundry workers and others who regularly perform household work as an occupation.
Service providers, family drivers and individuals who perform household work only occasionally or sporadically are not covered by the wage order.
The new rate applies across Central Visayas, including Negros Oriental and Siquijor, and will take effect 15 days after publication.
The previous wage order took effect on October 4, 2025.
