The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is strengthening its partnership with local government units (LGUs) in Zamboanga Peninsula to ensure continued support for households under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), particularly those preparing to exit the program.
Through a series of accountability meetings held in October, DSWD brought together local government representatives from Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga del Norte to assess program implementation, discuss challenges, and establish commitments to sustain assistance for beneficiaries.
The meetings also highlighted local initiatives, including scholarships, skills training, transportation assistance, and employment opportunities aimed at helping 4Ps households achieve self-sufficiency.
DSWD said it will continue monitoring the commitments made by LGUs, with succeeding accountability meetings scheduled in Sulu on November 12 and Zamboanga City on November 24.
