The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided more than Php 28 million in assistance to families displaced by renewed activity at Mayon Volcano, the agency reported.
Claudio Villareal, head of the DSWD Disaster Response Management Division in Bicol, said the assistance has reached 3,980 families, or 18,338 individuals, staying in evacuation centers or with relatives.
He said the agency has thousands of family food packs ready for distribution and continues to deliver food assistance to evacuees, alongside non-food items stored in various warehouses across the region.
Villareal added that a Php 3 million standby fund has been activated, along with psychological first aid services, child-friendly spaces, and a cash-for-work program for affected residents.
Mobile kitchens and a water treatment facility have also been deployed to support evacuation centers in Albay.
Separately, the DSWD said it has released ₱26.7 million in emergency cash transfers to 5,064 residents affected by Super Typhoon Uwan in 2025.
The agency said the combined relief and recovery efforts aim to address both the immediate and longer-term needs of disaster-affected communities in the Bicol region.
