DSWD-Bicol prepares PHP223M in relief goods for Super Typhoon Nando

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bicol (DSWD-5) has prepositioned over PHP223 million worth of relief resources to cushion the impact of Super Typhoon Nando (international name Ragasa).

DSWD-5 Director Norman Laurio said Monday that 208,079 family food packs and 25,788 non-food items—including family, sleeping, hygiene, and kitchen kits—are ready for distribution in various warehouses.

The agency has also set aside PHP3 million in standby funds and placed its quick response teams on high alert.

“They are also ready for the distribution of FFPs and NFIs, and providing support for camp coordination and camp management–internally displaced persons protection as required,” Laurio said.
