DSWD-11 begins Q4 pension payout for Indigent Seniors

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Region 11 (DSWD-11) has started distributing the fourth quarter social pension to indigent senior citizens in Davao City and Davao Occidental.

From October 13 to 17, around 20,000 beneficiaries each received PHP3,000 in financial aid, covering their monthly pension of PHP1,000 for October, November, and December.

“The purpose of this program is to help purchase food, medicine, and other needs of the beneficiaries,” the agency said in a statement.

Despite ongoing aftershocks in the region, DSWD-11 continues to deliver assistance to elderly beneficiaries. The Social Pension Program provides a monthly stipend to indigent seniors aged 60 and above who have no steady income, family support, or pension from government agencies like GSIS, SSS, or PVAO.

“With this program, DSWD-11 shows concern for the welfare of the elderly in the region,” the agency added.

The initiative aims to help seniors meet daily and medical needs, reduce hunger, and protect them from neglect and deprivation.
