The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) advised motorists to track areas affected by the rehabilitation of Edsa, which began at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

From Dec. 24 to Jan. 5, rehabilitation work along the busy thoroughfare will be conducted around the clock, the agency said.

Starting Jan. 6 until May 31, roadworks will be limited to 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., with the affected portions opened to the public at 5 a.m.

Concrete reblocking on the northbound side will cover Roxas Boulevard Heritage Hotel to Sgt. Mariano, Park Avenue to Edsa Orense (inner lane), and selected sections from Orense to Shell Mckinley.

Southbound reblocking will include Edsa corner Taft Avenue to FB Harrison, near HomeExpo Building Depot to P. Celle Street, and Ayala Underpass Exit to San Lorenzo Village.

Asphalt overlaying on northbound lanes is scheduled from Tramo to E. Rodriguez, E. Rodriguez to Kalayaan Avenue, Roxas Boulevard to FB Harrison, and Ayala Underpass to Urdaneta Subdivision.

Southbound asphalt overlaying will take place from Loring Street to Roxas Boulevard, Ayala Underpass to Tramo Bus Station, and Palm Drive to Ayala Underpass.

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said all reblocking works and asphalt overlay of busway lanes will be conducted around the clock during the holiday break.

After Jan. 5, asphalt overlaying and reblocking will proceed lane by lane from Monday to Friday, and one lane at a time on weekends, for both northbound and southbound sides of Edsa.

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes to avoid delays and to monitor updates from the DPWH for changes in the rehabilitation schedule.
