The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has welcomed Atty. Cinderella Filipina S. Benitez-Jaro as its new Undersecretary, following her oath-taking led by Secretary Francis N. Tolentino during the department’s weekly flag-raising ceremony at the DOLE Central Office in Intramuros, Manila.

Benitez-Jaro, who previously served as Executive Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), will oversee the department’s operations as part of her new role.

In her remarks, the newly appointed Undersecretary underscored the importance of DOLE’s mandate to empower the Filipino workforce by establishing stronger pathways to employment for graduates of higher education institutions and technical-vocational programs.

Her appointment highlights the department’s continuing efforts to strengthen the connection between education, skills development, and employment opportunities, ensuring that Filipino graduates are better equipped to participate in the country’s workforce.
