LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment in Bicol (DOLE-5) recognized local government units (LGUs), partner agencies, and stakeholders that have promoted programs, projects, and activities aimed at improving the welfare of workers in the region.
DOLE-5 Regional Director Imelda Gatinao, at the event at The Marison Hotel, acknowledged the contributions of 92 partners, institutions, individuals, advocates, and champions throughout the region.
“We honor not only excellence but also resilience and dedication to inclusive development. You serve as living proof that when the government and stakeholders unite, significant impact can occur. This impact uplifts workers, empowers communities, and instills hope in those who need it most,” she added.
During the ceremony, 11 qualified beneficiary establishments were awarded a total of PHP3.7 million in financial aid under the Department’s Adjustment Measures Program.
Over PHP20 million in assistance had been provided to help 58 small establishments affected by various weather disturbances, preventing them from closing.
“We ensured they could remain operational thanks to this program,” Gatinao said.
The 11 beneficiaries included two from Albay, seven from Catanduanes, and one each from Camarines Sur, Masbate, and Sorsogon. (PNA)
