DOH launches citizen monitoring for Super Health Centers

The Department of Health (DOH) has introduced the Bantay Super Health Center initiative, a citizen-led program for reporting non-operational or underperforming facilities. In a Facebook post, the agency stated it’s part of an investigation into unfinished or idle health centers nationwide, aligning with recommendations from the Independent Commission for Infrastructure to enhance transparency and ensure public-funded facilities are accessible and functional.

Through the Citizen Participatory Audit, citizens can report incomplete, non-operational, or poorly maintained Super Health Centers by submitting verified information to the DOH. To file a report, download the form from http://www.doh.gov.ph/bantaysuperhealth, fill in details like the facility’s address and condition, and attach recent photos with a dated newspaper for verification.

Completed reports can be emailed to bantaysuperhealth@doh.gov.ph. The DOH guarantees confidentiality for reporters’ identities and will review submissions, coordinating with local government units to resolve issues.

The program underscores the DOH’s commitment to transparent, participatory monitoring of public health infrastructure. Super Health Centers aim to deliver essential services like outpatient care, birthing, diagnostics, and emergencies closer to communities, but some remain idle or underutilized. Public involvement will help ensure these facilities meet community needs.Copy message
