THE Department of Health’s Center for Health Development through the Safe Motherhood Program and in collaboration with the national government’s Mental Health Program commemorated National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day with the theme ‘Pag-alala sa Bawat Buhay, Paghilom ng Bawat Puso’.

The observance commenced with a Holy Mass followed by a Candle Lighting Ceremony and Prayer of Remembrance to honor babies who passed away during pregnancy or infancy and express solidarity with their grieving families.

‘A Message for My Baby’ Memory and Message Wall was also set up that  provided space for participants to share heartfelt messages, prayers and memories for the little lives they continue to hold dear.

Mostly enthused the health department’s advocacy of holding every life is precious with every loss matters and every memory deserving to be cherished.

The observance serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion, understanding and psychosocial support for families navigating grief.
“Healing takes time, and no family should have to face loss alone. May we continue to honor every little life by extending kindness, listening without judgment, and offering comfort to those who need it most,” health secretary Dr. Edwin Mercado stressed.
