The Department of Energy (DOE), led by Secretary Sharon S. Garin, joined the ceremonial inauguration of the 10-megawatt YH Camarines Norte Solar Power Plant in Barangay Bautista, Labo, Camarines Norte, marking a significant milestone in the development of renewable energy in the Philippines.
Developed and operated by YHP2 Energy Inc., the 9.22-hectare solar facility supplies electricity directly to the Camarines Norte Electric Cooperative (CANORECO), providing locally generated clean energy to the province’s power distribution network.
Secretary Garin highlighted the project’s role in strengthening local energy security, reducing dependence on imported fuels, and generating employment opportunities for the local community.
The DOE reaffirmed its commitment to streamlining permitting processes and encouraging investments in renewable energy projects in support of “Enerhiyang Matatag at Makatao”—an energy system that is resilient, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of Filipino households.
