Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon on Thursday conducted an inspection of the EDSA Busway at Taft Avenue Station.

Dizon said the inspection aimed to monitor the progress and quality of ongoing construction for the EDSA rehabilitation.

Phase 1 of the EDSA Rehabilitation Project, covering Roxas Boulevard to Orense in Guadalupe, is currently about 40 percent complete, he added.

During the visit, Dizon emphasized the importance of pedestrian safety and instructed the widening of sidewalks to provide safer access for pedestrians and commuters.

On Thursday morning, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) held a consultation with bus operators on the implementation of digital fare systems along the EDSA Busway.

Dizon noted that combining infrastructure improvements with modernized fare systems would enhance safety, convenience, and the overall commuting experience for public transport users.
