Fuel costs are expected to surge again in the coming week as global oil markets react to escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Industry estimates indicated that diesel prices may climb between P14 and P14.50 per liter, while gasoline could increase by P7 to P7.50 per liter.

The projected adjustments followed renewed volatility in global crude markets, driven by fears of supply disruptions linked to ongoing hostilities in the region.

Market watchers said concerns have intensified over possible damage to key energy infrastructure, which could further restrict supply.

The continuing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran has contributed to heightened uncertainty in oil-producing areas.

Recent adjustments have already driven diesel prices beyond P100 per liter in Metro Manila, placing additional strain on motorists and transport operators.
