Day 1 strike fails to cripple transport as LTFRB ensures smooth commuter flow

The first day of the three-day nationwide transport strike ended with minimal disruption, as contingency measures led by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) kept commuters moving.

From dawn until evening rush hour, LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III personally oversaw operations, coordinating with transport cooperatives, local governments, and law enforcement. Augmentation vehicles, traffic monitoring, and rapid response teams were deployed to prevent stranded passengers.

“Our duty is to the riding public. Strikes must never paralyze the lives of ordinary Filipinos,” Guadiz said while making rounds from command centers to field posts.

Commuters reported smoother-than-expected trips, with schools, offices, and business districts operating normally. Observers credited Guadiz’s hands-on leadership and the LTFRB’s preparedness for maintaining public confidence.

Guadiz vowed vigilance in the coming days: “We will not let our commuters suffer. Our team will continue working round-the-clock to guarantee safe and reliable mobility for the public.”
