The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) aims to distribute 700,000 hectares of land by 2027 under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III said the agency plans to award 500,000 hectares in 2026 and another 200,000 hectares in 2027. He noted that only around 700,000 hectares remain for distribution.
In 2024, DAR distributed 100,000 hectares and covered 302,000 hectares in 2025, surpassing its 300,000-hectare target.
“Pipilitin namin na by 2027, lahat yan tapos na (We will try that by 2027, all of that will be completed),” Estrella said in an interview after the ceremonial distribution of electronic titles and Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (CoCRoM) in Pototan, Iloilo on Monday.
Estrella said land ownership is expected to boost food production and support the government’s food sufficiency program, while also increasing local government revenues through real property taxes.
He added that the distribution of CoCRoMs is on track for completion by June this year, describing it as a priority program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
On Monday, DAR turned over 6,472 electronic titles or e-titles to 5,837 DAR beneficiaries from Western Visayas and 1,803 CoCRoMs to 1,762 beneficiaries from Guimaras.
