NUEVA VIZCAYA — The Department of Agriculture (DA) has distributed more than Php 17 million worth of agricultural assistance to farmers in Nueva Vizcaya affected by the El Niño phenomenon.
The assistance aims to help farmers cope with the effects of prolonged dry conditions on their livelihoods while supporting the continued production of agricultural commodities in the province.
The initiative forms part of the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to protect farmers from climate-related challenges and strengthen the country’s food security.
Through the assistance, the DA seeks to ease the financial burden on affected agricultural communities and support their recovery from the adverse effects of El Niño.
The department continues to implement agricultural support programs aimed at improving farmers’ resilience to extreme weather conditions and sustaining local food production.
The DA emphasized the importance of timely government intervention to help agricultural communities recover from climate-related disruptions and maintain their productivity.
