DA Caraga grants ₱66-M livelihood aid to farmers

The Department of Agriculture in Caraga Region (DA-13) has released ₱66 million worth of livelihood support to 22 farmers’ and fisherfolk groups across the region.

The assistance was distributed under the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) program, which includes modules for free-range chickens, ready-to-lay chickens, swine, and goats.

DA-13 Director Arlan Mangelen led the release, encouraging recipients to make the most of the aid to strengthen their communities.
“LEED aims to support the efforts of the government to ensure food security and provide sufficient, affordable, and nutritious food to every family,” Mangelen said.

One of the beneficiaries, Eduardo Gellamucho, chairperson of the Bio-Organic Group in La Paz, Agusan del Sur, thanked the DA for the opportunity.
“Aside from regular farming, engaging in livelihood ventures such as poultry raising is a big help for farmers,” Gellamucho said.
