The final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the vicious demons begins. After the ‘explosive’ finale episode of the Hashira Training Arc last year, Tanjiro Kamado and his squad return to the big screen as Crunchyroll releases the official trailer for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle movie on June 28, revealing spectacular, action-packed fights inside Kibutsuji Muzan’s realm.
Crunchyroll earlier confirmed last June 2024 that this film serves as the first installment of the trilogy of the Infinity Castle Arc of one of the most popular anime shows of this generation to come in theaters on September 12, adapting the final phase in the manga originally written by Koyoharu Gotoge at Shueisha’s Jump Comics.
The trailer opens a cinematic narration by Tanjiro and Giyu’s master, Sakonji Urokodaki, on top of visually-stunning iconic animated sword-fighting hype scenes of the protagonists and two of the Upper Moon Demons of Muzan’s Twelve Kizuki as well as never-before-seen moments in the anime series.
Some of the highlights in the trailer anime fans should watch out for include the epic arrival of the Demons Slayer Corps Hashiras Obanai Iguro, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Gyomei Himejima, Muichiro Tokito, Mitsuri Kanroji, and Giyu Tomioka; a fierce duel between Butterfly Hashira Shinobu Kocho and Upper Moon rank 2 demon Doma; a rare “locked in” Zenitsu Agatsuma against a glimpse of who appears to be a new foe; and the highly-anticipated battle between Tanjiro and Upper Moon rank 3 Akaza.
Familiar Japanese artists who have performed the opening themes for Demon Slayer in past seasons were also announced in the trailer for the movie’s theme songs, A World Where the Sun Never Rises by Aimer and Shine in the Cruel Night by LiSA. Aimer performed “Zankyosanka” as the opening title for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc‘s in 2021 while LiSA was best known for the very first Demon Slayer opening title “Gurenge” in 2019.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by anime studios Aniplex and ufotable. The upcoming film will be distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
