Creamline and coach Sherwin Meneses will be honored at the first-ever Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards Night on May 28 at Novotel Manila Araneta City in Quezon City.
The Cool Smashers were voted Team of the Year, earning 13.6 points—10.8 from media and 2.8 from team votes. Petro Gazz came in second with 9.4 points after ending Creamline’s five-peat bid in the All-Filipino Conference last April.
Creamline made history this season by sweeping all three conferences in 2024, becoming the league’s first grand slam champions. Their 19-game winning streak from the Reinforced Conference to the All-Filipino Conference is the second-longest in PVL history.
Meneses, 42, will be awarded Coach of the Year after collecting 11 points—7.8 from media and 3.2 from teams. He beat out Petro Gazz’s Koji Tsuzurabara (9.6 points) and Akari’s Taka Minowa (2.4 points).
Meneses led Creamline to seven championships and is now the PVL’s most decorated coach. He recently became the first to reach 100 wins, hitting the milestone in a straight-sets victory over Chery Tiggo during the All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals.
“He is the league’s first centurion, with a record of 104 wins and 18 losses, and a win rate of 85.25 percent,” the league noted.
