The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced the passing of James Jimenez, former Spokesperson and Director IV of its Education and Information Department.

Jimenez served as the public face of the Commission, explaining electoral processes and engaging the public through various channels.

He helped establish Comelec’s official social media platforms, improving access to information and public interaction.

Colleagues remembered him for his professionalism, clarity, and calm presence during critical election periods.

Jimenez was among the youngest and longest-serving spokespeople in government, serving from July 2006 to September 2022.

Comelec extended condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues for their loss.
