Veteran actress Claudine Barretto is breaking her silence—and it’s not just family drama anymore. In a bold and emotional move, Claudine has filed legal action against her own brother, Mito Barretto, following what she claims were disturbing threats and malicious accusations thrown her way.
According to Claudine, Mito allegedly threatened to expose her supposed use of illegal drugs and vowed to destroy her reputation through the media.
“Respect is earned. And I’m suing. I won’t allow myself to be bullied—not even by family,” Claudine declared in a recent interview with director Chaps Manansala and showbiz columnist Jobert Sucaldito.
The actress revealed that she now fears not only for her own safety but for her children’s as well. “I didn’t want to go public with this,” she admitted, “but when your life and your dignity are being threatened, you have no choice but to fight back.”
She said she already sent a cease-and-desist letter, but the harassment hasn’t stopped. Claudine continues to receive calls from unknown numbers—adding to the mounting anxiety.
Adding more fuel to the fire, Claudine also denied being the source of a recent bombshell dropped by veteran showbiz vlogger Cristy Fermin, which claimed that their sister, Marjorie Barretto, lost her hearing after allegedly being assaulted by her former partner, Dennis Padilla.
“That didn’t come from me. I would never take Dennis’s side on anything like that. But my brother didn’t believe me,” she lamented.
Claudine also dropped a truth bomb: she had long been financially supporting Mito’s family—covering tuition for his kids and even paying rent for their home. “I don’t want to sound like I’m keeping score,” she said, “but when you’re hurt this deeply, you need to remind people of the truth.”
Now, with full backing from their mother, Inday Barretto, and other siblings, Claudine is ready for battle.
“I’m not the same Claudine you used to push around. I don’t care if you’re my brother, my sister, or anyone else. I owe you nothing—you owe me,” she fired back.
