The Philippine National Police reported Wednesday the arrest of an alleged drug syndicate leader in CALABARZON, following an operation by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Cavite.
Police said the suspect was arrested on February 6 in Barangay Salitran 3, Dasmariñas City, during a coordinated operation by the CIDG Cavite Provincial Field Unit and local police units.
Authorities said the arrest was carried out by virtue of several court-issued warrants covering attempted murder, slight physical injuries, violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and offenses related to the pilferage of electricity and transmission line materials.
Records showed that the warrants stemmed from cases filed between 2022 and 2024, indicating the suspect’s alleged involvement in a series of criminal activities over several years.
Investigators identified the arrested man as the purported head of the Sardido Drug Group, which police linked to the distribution of illegal drugs in Dasmariñas City and nearby towns in Cavite.
Police officials said the arrest is expected to weaken the group’s operations and disrupt the local drug trade in the area.
