Chot sees Troy a nightmare for TNT in Commissioner’s Cup finals

FOR someone who has known and coached Troy Rosario in the past, Chot Reyes believes the veteran big man would be a huge factor for Barangay Ginebra in its PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals against TNT.

Reyes pointed out that the 6-foot-7 Rosario was a massive nightmare for the Tropang Giga, even though he only played in his first conference with the Kings this season.

“With great difficulty. Troy brings more than just his skills and talent to a game,” said Reyes of his former TNT player.

“He’s willing to do whatever it takes. He’s a great teammate.”

Rosario won his first and only PBA championship at TNT, with Reyes manning the sidelines during the 2021 Philippine Cup bubble in Bacolor, Pampanga.

At the same time, the veteran coach got to handle the National University product at Gilas Pilipinas.

So, Reyes knows what Rosario can bring to the table.

“There are so many intangibles when you talk about Troy,’ said the TNT coach of Rosario, who averaged 13.0 on a high 67 percent shooting from the field in the Kings’ semifinal series against Northport.

TNT defeated Ginebra for the Governors’ Cup championship during the first conference when Rosario wasn’t still in a Kings’ uniform.

“He wasn’t there in our last final, so that’s going to be a big factor,” said Reyes.
