A Chinese national listed as the No. 1 most wanted person in Calabarzon was arrested in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, during a joint law enforcement operation, the Philippine National Police said.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Xi,” was apprehended on July 17 in Barangay Looc through a coordinated operation involving the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region, National Capital Region Police Office, Police Regional Office 4A and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission Task Force.
Police identified the 34-year-old suspect as a former employee of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator.
Authorities said the arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant for robbery under Article 294, Paragraph 5 of the Revised Penal Code.
Following her arrest, the suspect underwent documentation and was placed under the custody of the Dumaguete City Police Station pending her turnover to the court that issued the warrant.
The PNP did not immediately disclose details of the robbery case or when the warrant had been issued.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez said the arrest underscored the police force’s commitment to pursuing wanted persons regardless of nationality and ensuring they faced the charges filed against them.
The PNP said it would continue intelligence-driven operations against fugitives and other criminal offenders as part of its nationwide law enforcement campaign.
