Filipino travelers eyeing Japan this year have a new reason to plan ahead, with Philippine Airlines rolling out limited-time promotional fares across its Japan network.
The country’s flag carrier announced that one-way base fares to Japan are now available starting at $84, positioning the offer as one of its most aggressive international seat sales so far in 2026. The promo is open for bookings until February 20, giving travelers a short window to lock in lower prices for midyear trips.
Flights covered by the sale are set for travel beginning June 1, aligning with peak summer movement and post–cherry blossom travel, when Japan continues to see strong demand from Southeast Asian visitors.
PAL currently operates flights to multiple Japanese gateways from Manila, including Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo. The airline also maintains direct Japan services from Cebu, with routes to Osaka and Tokyo Narita, strengthening access for travelers outside Metro Manila.
The fare promotion comes as PAL continues to ride a positive financial upswing. The airline posted a 62 percent jump in net income in the third quarter of 2025 to $22 million, buoyed by higher flight frequencies and steady passenger volumes. For the first nine months of the year, net income rose 17 percent to $159 million, reflecting sustained recovery momentum in international travel.
Industry watchers see the Japan seat sale as part of a broader push by PAL to capture pent-up leisure demand while reinforcing key regional routes, particularly as outbound travel from the Philippines continues to normalize and expand.
