SINGAPORE — Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading carrier, has been named Asia’s Low-Cost Airline of the Year by the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA), solidifying its position as one of the region’s most dynamic and resilient airlines.
The recognition underscores Cebu Pacific’s exceptional business performance, innovative strategies, and unrelenting mission to make air travel more affordable and accessible to all. CAPA’s annual awards spotlight carriers that redefine industry standards through operational excellence, innovation, and long-term impact on the aviation landscape.
“We are deeply honored to receive this award from CAPA,” said Mike Szucs, Cebu Pacific Chief Executive Officer. “It’s a testament to the passion and commitment of every Juan at Cebu Pacific who works tirelessly to keep our flights safe, reliable, and affordable. As we expand our network, our purpose remains the same—to connect people, empower communities, and help drive tourism and economic growth across the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific.”
Unlike most industry recognitions, the CAPA Awards for Excellence are based on independent research conducted by an international panel of aviation experts—without sponsorships or customer voting.
Cebu Pacific earned top marks for its record-breaking passenger growth and solid financial performance. From January to September 2025 alone, the airline flew nearly 20 million passengers—a 13.9% jump from 17.5 million in 2024. Domestic travelers rose by 12.7% to 14.9 million, while international passengers increased by 17.7% to 5.1 million. The airline also maintained a robust 84.8% seat load factor, with overall capacity climbing 14% to 23.5 million seats.
This growth reflects Cebu Pacific’s successful low-cost model, which has revolutionized Philippine air travel by opening new routes, strengthening regional connectivity, and keeping fares within reach of every Filipino. The airline’s ambitious expansion continues, backed by its historic order of up to 152 Airbus A321neo aircraft—the largest single aircraft purchase in Philippine aviation history.
Now serving 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific remains steadfast in its vision of bringing everyJuan closer to the world—proving that flying can be both accessible and extraordinary.
