Cebu Pacific is first Southeast Asia’s low-cost carrier to offer Starlink inflight wi-fi service

Flying with Cebu Pacific could soon mean streaming your favorite shows, joining video calls, or staying connected with loved ones even at 35,000 feet.

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB) has announced plans to introduce Starlink inflight internet service beginning in 2027, making it the first low-cost airline in Southeast Asia to offer SpaceX’s industry-leading satellite connectivity technology onboard its aircraft.

The move marks a major leap forward for the Philippine carrier as it continues to invest in digital innovation and elevate the travel experience for its passengers.

Powered by Starlink’s advanced low-Earth orbit satellite constellation, the inflight connectivity service promises fast, reliable, and low-latency internet access—allowing travelers to enjoy HD video streaming, online gaming, web browsing, and productivity tools throughout their flight.

Beyond enhancing the passenger experience, the technology will also strengthen Cebu Pacific’s operational capabilities by providing improved connectivity for flight crews and airline operations, helping ensure more efficient and seamless service.

The Starlink rollout forms part of a broader global initiative among airlines under Indigo Partners, one of the world’s leading aviation investment firms. Cebu Pacific will join Frontier Airlines (United States), Wizz Air (Europe), Volaris (Mexico), and JetSMART (South America) in equipping their fleets with Starlink technology.

Together, the Indigo Partners portfolio airlines are expected to install Starlink on more than 1,000 aircraft, representing one of the largest commitments worldwide to next-generation inflight connectivity for low-cost carriers.

“Starlink will provide our portfolio airlines with reliable, high-speed connectivity, further enhancing the customer experience of flying on Wizz, Frontier, Volaris, JetSMART and Cebu Pacific,” said Bill Franke, Managing Partner of Indigo Partners.

For Cebu Pacific, the partnership aligns with its mission of making air travel more convenient and enjoyable without compromising affordability.

“Introducing Starlink marks another important step in delivering a better travel experience for every Juan,” said Xander Lao, President and Chief Commercial Officer of Cebu Pacific.

“Reliable, high-speed connectivity has become an expectation for today’s travelers, and we’re excited to bring that experience to our guests. Whether they’re staying in touch with loved ones, catching up on work, or enjoying their favorite content, Starlink will allow them to stay connected throughout their journey while Cebu Pacific remains true to our commitment to making air travel accessible and affordable.”

As travelers increasingly expect to stay connected wherever they are, Cebu Pacific’s adoption of Starlink signals a new era for budget air travel in Southeast Asia—bringing world-class inflight connectivity to Filipino passengers and setting a new benchmark for low-cost carriers in the region.
