Cebu Pacific (CEB), the airline backed by the Gokongwei Group, is ramping up its fleet with the addition of four new Airbus A330neo aircraft, all scheduled for delivery this year.
The first of the four wide-body jets, which can seat up to 459 passengers, arrived on Friday.
“The arrival of our latest A330neo strengthens our operational resilience, allowing us to serve more passengers while continuing to offer affordable and sustainable air travel,” said CEB President Xander Lao in a statement.
Designed for both regional and long-haul routes, the A330neo enhances Cebu Pacific’s operational flexibility. Its increased range and passenger capacity enable the airline to streamline operations while maintaining cost efficiency.
As part of Airbus’ newest generation of aircraft, the A330neo consumes 15% less fuel per flight and generates less noise compared to its predecessors. This improved fuel efficiency also translates to lower carbon emissions, aligning with CEB’s sustainability goals.
In addition to the four A330neos, Cebu Pacific expects delivery of three more aircraft this year, although specific models have not been disclosed. These additions are part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to expand and modernize its fleet.
CEB currently operates a diverse fleet consisting of 11 Airbus A330s, 39 Airbus A320s, 26 Airbus A321s, and 15 ATR turboprop aircraft.
