The planned off-site Blue Ribbon Committee hearing of the bloc led by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano will no longer push through, the venue’s management confirmed Tuesday.
Doublegem EDSA Garden Events Place announced that the scheduled event at its venue had been canceled.
The confirmation came after former congressman Mike Defensor said a flood control inquiry would proceed outside the Senate premises.
The supposed hearing, however, had not been publicly confirmed by any senator identified with Cayetano’s group.
The event was linked to the continuing dispute over Senate leadership and the handling of the Blue Ribbon Committee’s flood control probe.
In its statement, Doublegem said the Blue Ribbon Committee event would no longer proceed as originally planned.
The venue management also stressed that it had no connection to the organizers or participants of the planned activity.
Doublegem said it had no affiliation with the event’s subject matter, distancing itself from the proposed hearing and those behind it.
