Jakarta, Indonesia — Carlos Edriel Yulo once again proved why he’s one of the world’s most electrifying gymnasts, capturing the gold medal in the men’s vault finals at the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships on Saturday.

Yulo dazzled the Jakarta crowd with his signature blend of power and precision, earning an impressive average score of 14.866 — with a 15.200 on his first vault and 14.533 on his second. The 25-year-old Filipino dynamo raised the flag high once more, just a day after clinching a bronze medal in the floor exercise.

This latest victory marks Yulo’s second world title in the vault, following his breakthrough win in 2021, and his third World Championships gold overall — adding to his 2019 floor exercise triumph. The result reaffirms his position among gymnastics’ elite, coming barely a year after his double-gold performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he swept both the floor and vault events.

Yulo’s journey to reclaim the top spot hasn’t been easy. After a grueling Olympic cycle and intense global competition, his Jakarta campaign was seen as both a test of endurance and evolution. His renewed focus, combined with the technical refinement he’s honed with his coaching team, paid off spectacularly.

“Every medal feels different,” Yulo said after the event. “But this one means a lot — it’s about proving that I can still push myself higher.”

With this victory, Yulo adds another chapter to his already historic career — one defined by resilience, reinvention, and relentless pursuit of excellence. As the world looks ahead to the 2026 Asian Games, all eyes will once again be on the Filipino phenom who continues to redefine what’s possible in gymnastics.
