Inflation in Caraga according to PSA Region 13.
Inflation in the Caraga Region accelerated to 3.3 percent in January, higher than the 2.6 percent recorded in December 2025 and the 1.4 percent posted a year earlier, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.
PSA-Caraga Director Guillermo Lipio reported the increase during a presentation on Wednesday, attributing the faster price growth mainly to higher costs of basic goods and services.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages led the uptrend as inflation in the group climbed to 2.1 percent from 0.8 percent in the previous month.
“The commodity group contributed 74.9 percent to the inflation uptrend in the region last January,” Lipio said.
Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels also pushed inflation higher after rising to 6.6 percent from 6.1 percent, with housing rentals, fuel wood, and electricity posting notable increases.
Several commodity groups registered slower price growth, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco, transport, and information and communication, while inflation in education services and financial services remained unchanged.
All provinces in Caraga posted higher inflation in January, led by Dinagat Islands and Agusan del Norte, as price pressures spread across the region.
