BUTUAN CITY – Cities and towns in the Caraga Region opened the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) for business renewals and registrations on Thursday in their localities for the public’s convenience on government transactions.
In this city, the City Business Permits and Licensing Department (CBPLD) has established a space within Robinsons Place to streamline the processing of business renewals and permits through the BOSS.
“The BOSS registration will run until Jan. 31, 2025. The city government is calling all business owners in the city to transact through BOSS at Robinsons Place,” the city information office said in a statement on Thursday.
In addition to the CBPLD personnel, staff from other departments and concerned government agencies are also present to serve those processing their renewals and licenses.
According to city government data, the number of business permits registered in Butuan City steadily rose from 2020 to 2024. A total of 12,971 business permits were registered in the city in 2020, increasing to 13,357 in 2021 and 14,504 in 2022. The figure rose to 16,413 in 2023 and 17,994 as of November 2024.
Ordinance 7160-2024 of Butuan City sets the deadline for renewing business permits and paying business taxes and fees without penalties every March 31.
Other cities and municipalities in the region also opened their respective BOSS activities on Thursday.
The implementation of BOSS aligns with the provisions of Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business Law, which mandates providing the public with quality services by reducing expenses and inconveniences.
The BOSS also aims to streamline the process of business registrations and compliance procedures. (PNA)
